Compatibility & Accessories
What batteries are compatible with your cordless tools?

All Cat® 18V batteries are designed to be compatible across the Cat® 18V cordless power tool range. This platform compatibility allows you to use the same battery across multiple tools, offering flexibility, convenience, and cost efficiency.

Always ensure you are using a genuine Cat® 18V battery and compatible charger for optimal performance and safety.

Can your tools be used with third-party accessories?

Yes. Cat® Power Tools can be used with third-party accessories, provided they are designed and rated for the tool’s intended application and specifications.

Accessories do not need to be Cat® branded; however, it is important to ensure they are compatible in terms of size, fitting type, speed rating, and intended use. Using incorrectly specified accessories may affect performance or safety.

Are Cat power tool batteries interchangeable across all tools?

Yes. Cat® 18V batteries and chargers are compatible across the entire Cat® 18V cordless range. This interchangeable battery platform allows you to power multiple tools with the same battery system, improving
efficiency and convenience on the job.

Battery & Charging
How do I know when my battery needs replacing?

Over time, all rechargeable batteries naturally lose capacity. Signs that your battery may need replacing include noticeably reduced runtime, difficulty holding a charge, longer charging times, or inconsistent performance.

If you have concerns about your battery’s performance, we recommend speaking with your authorised Cat® Power Tools retailer. They can help determine whether a replacement battery is required.

How long do Cat batteries take to recharge?

Charging time depends on the charger’s amp rating and the battery’s level of discharge before charging. Higher amp-rated chargers will recharge batteries faster.

As a general guide (for a fully discharged battery):

  • DXC4 Charger: Charges a 4.0Ah battery in approximately 1 hour
  • DXC15 Fast Charger: Charges a 4.0Ah battery in approximately 26 minutes
